When one thinks of a PSP Phone , they usually imagine a handset with a number of cool, gamer-centric features, such as some sort of integration with the PlayStation network or — imagine! — the ability to actually play PSP games . What they don’t imagine — correct us if we’re wrong — is some sort of KIRFy cellphone shoved inside what is essentially the shell of a PSP. That said, we do have to give our friends in Shenzhen some props: not only have they beat Sony with this knock-off, but with the way things are going, they might have the PSP Phone market all to themselves in perpetuity. No specifics on this one yet — price, stats, or street date — but you probably weren’t going to buy one anyways. Get a closer look after the break. It’s just like the old riddle: what looks like a Hero , thinks it’s an iPhone , and does double-duty as an old-school FM handheld? Why, it’s the TVG3 — and when combined with some prototypical shanzhai flair, its (con)fusion of attributes from all over the cellphone space make this one a stunning exemplar of KIRFness. Behold! 3.2-inch touchscreen, G-sensor (aka gyroscope), dual sims, Bluetooth, WiFi, built-in TV tuner, HTC looks and an almost-iPhone UI: not bad for $130, eh? In case you won’t be in Shenzhen any time soon, you can get a closer look after the break.
If the Vaino “ultraportable” seemed a little too… well, aspirational , the style mavens at Engadget have dug up a netbook that will certainly correlate with both your awesome sense of style and your self-identification as an OG (that’s “original gemsta”). Dug up by some eagle-eyed KIRF-hunters at 2009’s Shenzhen International Netbook Industry Fair & Forum, this guy sports an 8.9-inch display, an Intel Atom (Z515 / Z520 / Z530), 1GB RAM, up to 64GB storage, 3G, WiFi, SD card slot and more. We don’t have a street date yet for you, but the price should be about 2000 yuan (that’s about $294). And the best part? You won’t have to worry about these guys stealing your thunder.
Sure, we’ve seen plenty of iPhone clones in our day, but we’ll say this: this is the clome to beat all clomes. It really takes the KIRF standard up a notch, running the best fake OS X we’ve seen to date. This one’s identity is less confused than many of the knockoffs we usually see, and if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these 4GB having-babies… well, you just might be able to convince your grandma that it’s the iPhone 3G S. Video is after the break. [Via PMP Today ] Continue reading Keepin’ it real fake, part CCXVIII: iPhome 3G for the wim! Why should authentic, honest-to-goodness Wii owners be the only ones to indulge in some mindless escapism — or a spirited virtual workout, for that matter? To this end, the heads at Chinavasion have dreamt up a two-tone, quasi-legal Balance Board KIRF for you and your game console. Sure, this is by no means the first such beast we’ve seen , and there’s no telling whether or not this bad boy is compatible with your W
Sure, you could just get a plain old KIRF Motorola Aura , but those looking for a double dose of fake luxury will no doubt want to give some serious consideration to this latest knock-off wonder, which adds some of that always popular Louis Vuitton excess to Moto’s often imitated sense of style. Of course, that imitation doesn’t exactly extend all that far, with this so-called Imobile Phone V453 ditching the Aura’s pricey circular display in favor of a not at all pricey square-within-a-circle display, although the phone does one-up the Aura with a eye-catching ring of LED lights around the display (hit up the link below for a glimpse of that). Or, if the Aura’s not your thing, you can also save a few bucks and snag a fake Louis Vuitton RAZR… or not. It’s not impossible to find a knock-off of a Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive), but this new version by Blaze may be the best reproduction yet. It’s all in the controllers—to the eye, they’re nearly indistinguishable from the late-generation, 6-button controllers offered by Sega. Plus this version of the Genesis should come with improved A/V connectors (maybe even S-Video?) to put a prettier picture on your honking HD set. With 15 free bundled games (Alex Kid, Alien Storm, Altered Beast, Arrow Flash, Bonanza Bros., Columns, Crack Down, Decap Attack, E Swat, Fatal Labyrinth, Flicky, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Shadow Dancer, and Sonic And Knuckles), the Blaze Sega Mega Drive will be available soon for about $50. The only catch is that it’s probably for PAL TVs only, so you’ll need to keep an eye out for an NTSC version.
Weight Fat —found in a Japanese crane machine—blatantly rips off Wii Fit with its green, grey and white color scheme and similar fonts. There’s a problem with this knock-off, though: it’s not even a video game. The Weight Fat Checker is actually exactly what its name proclaims it to be: It’s a body fat checker that measures, displays and monitors your weight/fat when you grip the sides of it like a steering wheel. Here’s a thought: Just let me grip your fatty sides and I’ll check your weight/fat for you, for free. [ CAG via Kotaku ]
Why get a super-thin, ultra-cool, beautiful Sony Vaio P when you can get a super-fatso, ultra-blah, furrible Vaino? After all, the Vaino has a bigger 10.2-inch screen and a faster Atom chip, right? I tell you you why. Because despite the 1GB of memory, 160GB HD, multi-format card reader, 1.3 megapixel camera, and Wi-Fi, toting around a a Vaino will make you the lamest fashionista wannabe in the world, that’s why.
